A basic attachment
or a plug-in bidet seat?

Start with the bathroom you have. The toilet shape and available power can rule out a model before the feature list does.

Two different purchases

A non-electric attachment normally sits under the existing toilet seat and uses water pressure. It does not plug into a socket. A basic cold-water model uses the incoming supply temperature; some other non-electric models connect to a separate hot-water supply. Check the exact design rather than assuming that “non-electric” always means the same plumbing.

An electric bidet seat replaces the seat. Depending on the model, it can add heated water, a heated seat, and a dryer. Those features need a suitable electrical supply as well as a water connection. Follow the manufacturer’s installation instructions and local requirements; if suitable power is missing, include the cost of getting it installed before choosing a seat.

Look under the seat before spending anything

Photograph the toilet from above and from the side. Note whether the bowl is round or elongated, where the water shutoff sits, and whether the seat bolts are accessible. Some toilets conceal the fittings or have shapes that limit compatibility. Use the product’s fitting guide with those measurements.

Allow time to check for leaks according to the instructions after installation. If the water connection or electrical requirements are unclear, ask a qualified installer. This page is a buying comparison, not an installation manual.
