What to do in the five minutes after a stream.

Save the useful details while they are still obvious, then get away from the desk.

Confirm it has ended

Look at the destination platform and confirm that the live broadcast is over. Stop local recording separately if needed. Remove temporary screen shares and close any guest connections. Do this before opening personal messages or documents.

Protect the recording

Check that the recording file exists and plays. Use a filename with the date and topic. If the session is important, keep a second copy in your normal backup location. Do not erase the working copy just because an upload has started; verify the uploaded file first.

Keep three notes

Write the strongest question, one technical issue, and any promised follow-up. “Guest too quiet after the second segment” is actionable. “Audio bad” is not. If you know the time of a useful moment, add the timestamp so you do not have to watch the entire replay.

Send what you promised

Thank the guest and share the agreed links or recording details. Ask before reusing a guest’s contribution in a different context. Then close the session. You can review performance later with more distance; immediate viewer numbers rarely tell the whole story.
